Steel Material Handler- Fabrication Shop

(Day Shift)

We are a CREATIVE job shop located in CO Springs, actively seeking an experienced Steel handler to join our fabrication and warehouse department on 1st shift.

Hours- 6am-2:30pm, Mon- Fri

Pay: $23-25

This position is IDEAL for someone that can identify, move and stage metal plates, beams and bars with heavy equipment. If you have structural metal experience and knowledge, we want to talk to you!

Main Focus:

• Identifying different types and sizes of metals
• Organizing steel/ other metals in storage areas
• Operated forklifts and jacks safely to transport medium to heavy loads or long loads
• Handling steel plates, beams and bars with equipment
• Working with oversized metals
• Communicating with shop leadership and warehouse team
• Following safety protocol for safe transportation of goods

Must Have:

• Already come with experience moving Steel in a Manufacturing environment
• Ability to recognize metals and identify them
• Knowledge on HOW TO move plates, beams, bars, structural steel equipment
• Organizational skills (ability to follow guidelines)
• Forklift experience
• Previously read material tags, checked measurements and handed in shop paperwork
• Safety awareness and attention to details
