What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop, implement, and enforce company-wide safety programs and policies
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA (29 CFR 1926), DOT (FMCSA), MSHA, and EPA regulations
  • Exercise stop-work authority for imminent safety hazards
  • Develop site-specific safety plans (SSPs) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Lead, hire, train, and mentor Field Safety Representative(s)
  • Provide safety guidance to superintendents, foremen, and field crews
  • Conduct jobsite audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and vehicle accidents
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation programs, insurance claims, and return-to-work initiatives
  • Oversee OSHA 300 logs, reporting requirements, and regulatory notifications
  • Represent the company during regulatory inspections and client safety meetings
  • Develop and oversee safety training programs and new hire orientations
  • Monitor EMOD scores, injury trends, and safety performance metrics
  • Conduct environmental, fleet, and risk audits
  • Coordinate safety initiatives with HR, Operations, Legal, and Executive Leadership
  • Approve safety equipment purchases and manage safety-related expenditures

What You Bring

  • Minimum 4 years of safety management experience in construction
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA construction standards
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT and EPA regulations (MSHA knowledge a plus)
  • Experience with incident investigation and claims management
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence field teams and operations
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience using safety management or incident tracking systems
