The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist supports pharmacy operations by managing purchasing, inventory control, and automated dispensing systems across multiple pharmacy locations. This role ensures accurate inventory levels, cost-effective purchasing, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted medication availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily purchasing and inventory ordering for pharmacy locations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and improve inventory metrics
- Monitor medication expirations and rotate inventory as needed
- Coordinate inventory audits, transfers, and discrepancy resolution
- Manage Omnicell inventory, audits, user access, and system requests
- Track out-of-stock and short-supply medications
- Generate inventory and expiration reports
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and USP storage guidelines
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff, vendors, and analysts
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1+ year of inventory or procurement experience (pharmacy or healthcare preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and inventory system skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical inventory and storage requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Pay & Schedule
- Pay: $25–$30 per hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional Sunday rotation
- Travel: Up to 15%
