Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: Monday - Thursday 7: 30am-4: 00pm & Friday 6: 30am-3: 00pm
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Press Brake Operator to join our sheet metal shop. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, fold, and shape sheet metal according to precise specifications. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, fold, and shape sheet metal according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
-Experience with Amada Press Brake is a plus.
- Review work orders and drawings to determine job specifications, including material type, thickness, and dimensions.
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and punches for each job and install them onto the press brake machine.
- Position and align sheet metal against the machine's back gauge and ensure proper clamping.
- Calculate and adjust machine settings, such as bend angle, depth, and back gauge positions, to achieve desired results.
- Inspect workpieces for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments, and make necessary adjustments to maintain specifications.
- Monitor machine operation, including speed, pressure, and tonnage, and make adjustments as required.
- Perform routine machine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions and notify maintenance or supervisors for major repairs.
- Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members, including engineers, fabricators, and assemblers, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator in a sheet metal shop or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of press brake machines, tooling, and operation techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations and measurements.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials, as required.
Must be ok with a background check and a UA screening.
