Job Description

Position Title: Plumbing Field Manager / Superintendent / Foreman / Lead
Pay Range: $30-41 per hour DOE

Shift: 1st


Job Summary:
The Plumbing Field Manager utilizes their knowledge and experience in the trade along with management skills to coordinate internal team members and external clients to deliver a professionally completed, high-quality plumbing product within the constraints of time and budget. This position may involve hands-on work in the trade.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Supervise trade-specific crew leaders, journeymen, and apprentices.
  2. Coordinate with Project Manager on project needs as required. Communicate project status, changes, and needs to the Project Manager.
  3. Lead and train crews in planning, layout, material management, reading and interpreting technical project information, and in their specific craft.
  4. Take-off, order, and schedule delivery of materials.
  5. Pre-plan job requirements with the project manager, general superintendent, purchasing, fabrication shop, and construction supervisor.
  6. Read and understand blueprints, CAD drawings, isometrics, equipment specifications, job specifications, equipment submittals, schedules, and other construction and equipment-related information.
  7. Continually collaborate with CAD department until final coordination drawings are complete.
  8. Responsible, with all team members, for ensuring that the project is kept within budget and on time. Understand and know how to read variance reports to manage the project budget.
  9. Maintain a clean, orderly, and organized work site.
  10. Participate in hands-on completion of piping and sheet metal assignments whenever possible.
  11. Maintain current understanding and knowledge of building codes and regulations governing inspections and construction practices. Coordinate inspections.
  12. Develop a final turnover package for the client and their maintenance staff, including training where necessary. Keep and maintain updated as-builts.

Requirements: 

  1. High school graduate/GED with an appropriate 4-year apprenticeship certificate.
  2. A minimum of 4 years of field experience.
  3. Plumbing Journeyman or Master plumbing license required.
  4. Working knowledge of all relevant national and local codes and company and industry standards.
  5. Must possess and maintain licenses required in the jurisdictions where you are working.
  6. Strong organizational and leadership skills and experience required.
  7. Proven abilities in pipefitting, plumbing and/or sheet metal, service, or system functionality experience required.
  8. Basic computer skills.
