Material Control (MC) Specialist – Incoming Inspection
Location: Lafayette, CO
Schedule: Full-Time | 4x10 Schedule (Monday–Thursday)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Material Control (MC) Specialist to support receiving, incoming inspection, inventory control, and material management activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all incoming materials, components, and products meet quality standards while maintaining accurate inventory records and material traceability throughout the production process.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, shipping and receiving, or inventory management and possess a strong commitment to accuracy and organization.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, parts, and components against purchase orders, specifications, and certifications.
Perform incoming inspections using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and scales.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
Ensure proper material identification, traceability, and inventory accuracy.
Process material transactions within ERP or inventory management systems.
Coordinate the movement of materials between receiving, inventory, inspection, and production areas.
Investigate and report non-conforming materials and assist with corrective actions.
Maintain organized storage locations and support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve material-related issues.
Follow established quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, inventory control, quality inspection, or material handling.
Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
Background in aerospace, defense, electronics, medical device, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with quality management systems and inspection documentation.
Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience.
