Position: IT Generalist

Pay Range: $20.00-$25.00 per hour (Depending on Experience) 

Hours: Monday through Friday 

Shift: 1st Shift 7:00am - 4:00pm

Job Description:

We are seeking an IT Specialist with one to two years of experience in the field of information technology. In this role, you will provide critical support for end users, working with both hardware and software solutions. Under general supervision, you may collaborate with technical and managerial staff to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. Responsibilities Include: 

-Support Network Refresh Project: Assist in the physical un-racking of network components and the installation of new replacement equipment.

  

-After-Hour Network Maintenance: Be available for after-hour network change control maintenance windows as needed to minimize disruptions to our operations.

  

- Organized Equipment Storage: Collaborate with network personnel to maintain well-organized network equipment storage areas for efficiency.

  

- Equipment RMA Activities: Provide assistance with network equipment Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) activities as needed.

  

- Network Troubleshooting: Utilize your fundamental knowledge of networking, hardware, and software to troubleshoot network issues, including but not limited to duplex mismatches, duplicate IPs, corrupt firewall software, and proxy configuration issues.

  

- Hardware Installation: Install and configure various network devices such as network printers, scanners, plotters, and PCs. Troubleshoot problems related to network printing and scanning devices.

  

- Data Termination/Activation: Perform data termination and activation in telecommunication closets, also known as network connect, ensuring the activation of data drops.

  

- Cable Maintenance: Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops.

  

- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including project support as directed by customer management.

  

- Network Connectivity: Assess LAN and network connectivity, conducting basic troubleshooting or setups when required.

  

- Desktop Support: Demonstrate a professional desktop support history with proficiency in various platforms, systems, applications, and tools. Expertise in all aspects of computer functionality, system operation, and infrastructure.

  

- Software Testing: Evaluate and test software programs to verify functionality according to specifications and standards.

  

- Certification (Optional): Possession of CCNA or CCENT certification is a plus.

 

Qualifications:

- 1-2 years of experience in IT or related fields.

  - Fundamental knowledge of networking, hardware, and software.

  - Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

  - Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.

  - Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.

  - Physical capabilities to lift up to 70 lbs.

  - Willingness to provide backup support for Moves, Adds, and Changes as needed.
