The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for partnering with site supervision to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Inspect jobsite, including tools, equipment, and machinery, to identify and correct deficiencies or potential hazards, and to ensure compliance with OSHA, internal, and Owner/GC regulatory requirements.
- Assist project team and safety management team in the investigation of safety-related damage incidents, employee injuries or occupational illnesses, and motor vehicle accidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
- Conduct or facilitate safety training and education programs to supervisory and field employees through formal training classes, safety meetings, or other venues.
- Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to workplace and environmental hazards.
- Ensure tools, equipment, materials, vehicles, and technical instruments are fit-for-purpose, functional, calibrated, and the appropriate protective equipment, methods, guard, management systems are in place to reduce or eliminate the risk of employee injuries or illnesses.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of four years' experience in the construction industry.
- Possess excellent understanding of the electrical industry.
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Thorough understanding of and the ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and corporate regulations.
- Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are required.
- Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of our PACT, People, Advance Process, Community, and Trusting Relationships.
Preferred Requirements:
- Electrical experience including a Journeyman Electrical License or RTT.
- Completion of OSHA Course #510.
- Current certifications or in pursuit of any of the following certifications:
- Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) by BCSP.
- Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST) by NFPA.
- Knowledge in accident investigation following root cause analysis principles.
