Job Title: Custodian

Reports to: Head Custodian or Facilities Manager

Shift: 2nd shift 2p-11p

Pay Range: $17.49 per hour




Job Summary: The Custodian will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, and a commitment to contributing to the overall success of the school.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the school premises.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in classrooms, offices, hallways, and other common areas.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenishing supplies as needed.
• Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, windowsills, and furniture.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and repairing fixtures.
• Assist with setting up and arranging furniture for events and meetings.
• Keep entrances, walkways, and parking areas free of debris and snow during inclement weather.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Head Custodian or Facilities Manager.
• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and submitting requests for restocking.
• Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
• Attend training sessions and meetings related to safety, cleaning procedures, and equipment operation.
