Job Description
A Manufacturing Job Shop is seeking a CNC Programmer to plan and program moderate to complex CNC jobs for our Machine Shop.
This position requires flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work across multiple areas in the shop.
Pay: $23-29 1 shift
Long term, Full time ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Generates, updates, and revises CAD drawings or Solid Models for effective transference to a CNC program.
- Generates, updates, and revises CNC programs from various software packages to nest patterns and cut various materials to specific dimensions.
- Maintain program history for production jobs.
- Helps maintain tooling lists of available tooling for cutting and forming materials.
- Interfaces with Design Engineers/Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers to work through any issues identified, and to reduce material waste.
- Coordinates the generation and revision of programs, tool lists, cut lists, and job set-up sheets for Processing operations as part of the Job Confirmation process.
- Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, Project Managers and other machine programmers to ensure that jobs are released to the floor in a way that ensures smooth and efficiently use of labor and materials.
- Coordinates the archiving of machine specific information, such as program files, DXF/STEP/IGES files, tooling, and machine process flows as required. Specific Requirements
- The ability to read and interpret intermediate drawings and blueprint packages - The ability to independently generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs.
- The ability to process complete job packages through planning and programming with minimal direction, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
- The ability to edit basic Structures and Routing changes in SYSPRO.
- The ability to complete and generate hard copy and electronic forms.
- The ability to utilize CAD software to edit and draw basic parts for programming when no representative drawing is available.
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience.
Level III
- Specific Requirements
- The ability to read and interpret complex drawing and blueprint packages.
- The ability to independently evaluate requirements for complex jobs and generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs for all Processing machines.
- The ability to independently process complete, complex job packages through planning and programming, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
- The ability to create and edit SYSPRO Structures and Routings.
- The ability to utilize CAD software to edit, draw, and design complex parts for programming.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Screening / Testing:
All candidates must be able to pass:
Drug screen including THC
Criminal background screen
