Qualifications
- 2-10 years of professional welding experience
- Proficiency in MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding
- Proficiency in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
- Experience with structural welding and piping
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification preferred
- Valid welding certification(s) from recognized institutions
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG and TIG welding on various materials, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel
- Fabricate and assemble structural components according to blueprints and specifications
- Weld pipes and fittings for industrial applications, ensuring proper alignment and leak-free connections
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including power sources, wire feeders, and gas cylinders
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and beveling edges as necessary
- Inspect completed welds for defects and ensure compliance with quality standards
- Perform necessary repairs or modifications to existing structures and components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations
- Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators, fitters, and engineers
- Participate in project planning and provide input on welding processes and techniques
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and time spent on projects
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in welding technology
- Mentor and train junior welders as needed
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of welding equipment
