Full-time Shipping Associate
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping Associate to join our dynamic warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role and be proficient in operating forklifts, managing inventory, and using RF scanners. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of shipments, maintaining inventory levels, and contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently, adhering to company policies and procedures
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload products and materials
- Utilize RF scanners to track inventory movements, update stock levels, and ensure accuracy in the warehouse management system
- Perform regular cycle counts and participate in full inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling
- Verify shipment contents against packing lists and order forms
- Inspect outgoing shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with team members to optimize warehouse layout and improve efficiency
- Assist in receiving incoming shipments and properly storing items in designated areas
- Troubleshoot and resolve shipping-related issues as they arise
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and other relevant data
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth operations
- Stay updated on shipping regulations, best practices, and industry trends
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in a shipping, warehouse, or logistics role
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Experience with inventory management systems and practices
- Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional logistics certifications are a plus
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Experience with major shipping carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS) and their systems
