SUMMARY

In this role you will finish custom engineered metal products to the surface finish required by our customers. You will work with a team of talented fabricators where collaboration and communication are key to completing projects on time and to customer specifications.

First Shift

Pay rate: $22- $27+/hr DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

While working under close supervision –

• Read and understand fabrication drawings.
• Determine required surface finish and locations on metal parts, assemblies, or weldments.
• Use grinders, buff wheels, and other tools, to grind and polish to required surface finish.
• Processes required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working area.
• All other duties as assigned by shop supervision.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• 0-3 years metal finishing experience and knowledge of sanitary surface finishes (grinding, graining, brushing, random orbital) on stainless steel.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings to determine required surface finish and other specifications.
• Experience with grinders, buff wheels, and other hand tools used to modify surface finish of stainless steel, steel, and aluminum products.
• Ability to use standard measuring equipment to measure dimensions and surface finishes.
• Ability to organize work and communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to answer questions effectively before departmental meetings.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
• Prior training in Lean Manufacturing and work experience in a Lean environment is highly desirable.
