Job Description

 

Job Summary: To perform highly skilled welding work in support of welding projects. $25-30 hourly

  • Welding and Fabrication:
    • Layout and fit, fabricate, and weld structural and miscellaneous steel projects
    • Proficient in the use of precision measuring techniques and formulas
    • Proficient in handrail fabrication
    • Able to cut and weld to drawings
    • Clean and maintain an orderly work environment in and around the facility
    • Unloading of deliveries
    • Loading shipments for staff and customers
    • Operate forklifts, drill press, power saw, grinder, positioners, and a variety of welding and cutting equipment and hand tools
  • Safety and Accountability:
    • Ensure staff and equipment meets regulatory and company safety standards
    • Maintain safe work practices in and involving the plant
    • Good working relationships with internal staff and external customers/vendors

o    Represents Mountain Man to the customer, or to OSHA, when necessary. Understand and discuss customer’s needs. 

    • Ensure quality standards are met on each job

·         Additional Responsibilities:

·         Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

 

Experience/Education/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • 5 years’ welding and fabrication experience in a welding and fabrication shop.   
  • 5 years’ experience reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Must be high quality oriented
  • Working knowledge of fabrication shop functions.  Knowledge of welding shop tools, techniques, and equipment.  Understand shop procedures and policies

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly hear, talk, frequently required to stand, walk, and bend to lift or grab items.
  • Walking up and down stairs, occasional driving, and stretching during the workday.
  • The employee must regularly lift or move more than 15 pounds above the head and lift/carry at least 60 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • This role operates within a welding and fabrication shop environment, with exposure to welding equipment, machinery, and various environmental conditions (both indoors and outdoors).

Additional Information:

  • Supervision: This position does not directly supervise staff but requires oversight of task execution.
  • Work Hours: Full-time, typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends. Overtime may be required.
  • Travel Expectations: Minimal travel, limited to the metro area.
