Position and Responsibilities Overview
Responsible for the Job Cost function— Sales and use tax affidavits, subcontractor/supplier processing. Responsible for contractor and subcontractor liens, invoice posting, and subcontractor check preparation. Responsible for the accounts receivable function - post receipts, notify project managers, research discrepancies.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare sales and use tax affidavits for multiple jurisdictions
- Research sales and use tax laws and regulations to assist operations team with project setup
- Review actual costs ensuring accurate project cost allocation and variance analysis against forecast
- Calculate sales and use taxes on invoices from vendors/suppliers.
- Interface general contractor billings.
- Process subcontractor payments.
- Prepare unconditional/conditional lien releases for subcontractors.
- Respond to inquiries from subcontractors, jobsite staff and management.
- Prepare job close-out documentation and monitor close-out process to completion
- Process purchase order agreements.
- Post cash receipts.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with supplier’s/subcontractor’s accounting staff.
- Promptly return all phone calls in a polite and professional manner.
- Review invoice coding for accuracy, proper approvals, and reasonableness.
- Keep sensitive information confidential.
Qualifications:
- Sales and use tax multi-state experience required
- Indirect supervision.
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Fully competent in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area.
- Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standards.
- Devises new solutions to problems encountered.
- Independently performs most assignments with instruction
- Receives guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards.
- College/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles.
